Martini Rouge is a quartet based in Sydney fusing jazz, pop, latin and lounge music. ROUGE. French for 'RED'. The color of love, passion, lust, fire and blood; All the ingredients found simmering in this musical cocktail of Brubeck and Ellington inspired jazz laced with lust, femme fatales, samba and New Orleans!
Consisting of piano, double bass, drums and singer. Mixing the worldly musical backgrounds of its band members to create their own unique signature sound and extensive multilingual repertoire (True to the languages of l'amour: English, Italian, French and Spanish), Martini Rouge covers lost jazz and latin gems and draws upon them as inspiration for their own original compositions.
The quirky quartet made their musical debut on the main arena of the Sydney Royal Easter Show in 2012, paying a long overdue homage to an era when music was bursting with toe tappin zest and lyrical depth.
